No matter what method of paint stripping you use, a sander will be needed at all points of the project. This random orbital sander worked very well for me, although it wasn't great for getting into corners.

Makes light work of removing the paint once the paint stripper has done its thing.

100 Sanding Pads
100 Sanding Pads
You need loads of different sanding grits for this task. From 60 grit in the early stages all the way through to 200+ for the final finishes. I've found multipacks like this work out much easier and cheaper.

The finish I went for was a Danish Oil from Libéron and I love it, there are many different options & finishes you can choose from though.
